King Charles Was Not Pleased With Princess Anne And Prince Edward Following Their Andrew Meetup
Apparently, the King is worried that the optics of Andrew being perceived as a part of the Royal Family’s inner circle is not a good one. Last week, the disgraced Duke met up with his only sister and younger brother for an afternoon get-together.
Though thought to have been a part of the gathering at Windsor, it was later revealed that the King did not join his siblings for the lunch and shoot.
Guests at the gathering include Edward’s wife, Sophie Wessex, Anne’s husband, Tim Lawrence, and Sophie Winkleman, the wife of Freddie Windsor.
Princess Anne and her younger brothers enjoyed an afternoon shooting near Windsor Castle with their spouses and close friends. According to a Palace source, King Charles was not happy about it. Hence, the reason he made himself unavailable on that day. The get-together also happened a day before his 74th birthday.
Uh-oh, and just when King Charles submitted a formal request to add Princess Anne and Prince Edward to the list of Counsellors of State.
“King Charles was said to be displeased that Edward and Anne had been publicly meeting up with Andrew and wanted it made clear that he had not been part of the shoot,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“Anne and Edward had been privately concerned about Andrew and wanted to check on him.”
And for good reason, knowing the amount of stress Andrew might be facing, especially since he can’t show his face in his own country without someone calling him out.
“But Charles’ view is that he should not be in the public eye. His Majesty was not thrilled at all.”
Previously, it was reported that King Charles made it clear that Andrew is done and dusted when it comes to returning to royal life. Some believe that Andrew is preparing to “fightback”, and by the look of things and his surprise visit to Bahrain, he may well do.
