Prince Harry Slammed For Throwing His Family Under The Bus – Just As Bad As The British Press He Despises?
British Royal News suggests that Prince Harry really didn’t do himself any favors when he threw his family members and the “institution” behind closed palace walls under the bus in his Netflix docuseries, Harry and Meghan. In fact, some people say that Harry airing out all of his family’s dirty laundry makes him look just as bad as the British press. Here’s what you need to know.In Harry and Meghan, the narrative revolved around how the media publicized the scrutiny the Duke and Duchess of Sussex received, Harry opens up about the moment he and his brother Prince William’s relationship became compromised. “I’ve had thirty years’ experience of looking behind the curtain and seeing how this system works and how it runs,” Harry says. “Just constant briefings about other family members, about favors inviting the press in. It’s a dirty game.”
The royal explains the order of business between the different communications offices within the firm, revealing that to get bad press away from their “principal,” they would “trade” and give the media something about someone else’s principle.
But should have Harry really said all of this? Harry says he and William grew up watching it happen with his father’s communications office and had promised each other they would never do it to one another. However, that promise was broken when Harry and Meghan split from William and Kate’s communications office.
In addition, Harry also described the events leading up to the couple’s departure. He said: “I went in with the same proposal that we’d already made publicly, but once I got there I was given five options – one being all in, no change, five being all out. I chose option three in the meeting – half in, half out. Have our own jobs but also work in support of the Queen. It became very clear, very quickly that goal was not up for discussion or debate. It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that just simply weren’t true.”
Prince Harry also claimed that the Queen, his grandmother, sat back quietly during the alleged row. “But you have to understand that, from the family’s perspective, especially from hers, there are ways of doing things and her ultimate, sort of, mission, goal, responsibility, is the institution,” Harry said.
