Prince William Jokes About Losing Nature's Crown (His Hair)
“I don’t know if you guys have heard about the Earthshot Prize, but it’s an initiative I started about two years ago now, although it’s been about four years in the making—I had hair when it started,” the prince joked. “It’s designed as an environmental prize tackling the world’s greatest environmental problems.” He went on to explain that everything from the burgers’ packaging to the stove they were cooked on are environmentally friendly inventions from around the globe, promoted by the Earthshot Prize in an effort toward a sustainable food system. Will’s take on his thinning mane is much kinder than his brother’s; in his memoir Spare, Prince Harry memorably described a scene in which he notices Will’s “alarming baldness,” noting that his resemblance to their late mother Diana was “fading with time,” per Us. Harry later explained that he didn’t mean to be insulting—personally, I think that passage was meant to show the passage of time and how the estranged brothers are growing apart as they grow older—but still, kind of a low blow!
Luckily, the actor playing Prince William won’t have to shave his head for the upcoming season of The Crown—set photos show Will and Kate meeting at university, and everyone’s hair looks great.
